Hi Members,
Spring has sprung and that means that conference is fast approaching. Have you booked?? Join us in sunny Brisbane and place are still available for the pre-conference workshop. This years program is jam packed with speakers from a range of background looking to innovate and stimulate. The keynote speakers are all set to kick off an inspiring two days.
I am looking forward to meeting lots of new people and also catching up with some old friends. For me, conference is the pinnacle event in the DRTA calendar and provides an opportunity to learn from leaders and specialists in their chosen fiends. It always leaves me with a reinvigorated sense of the DT role and reconfirms why we do what we do.
There are many reasons to attend conference and I believe the most important are:• Learning new skills
• Learning new and current practices
• Networking
• Hearing form the leaders/experts in the field
And the most important:
• Have fun
While the conference aims to pass on the knowledge and expertise, it also provides a unique networking opportunity. Meeting with your peers, especially for those working as sole practitioners, can be beneficial for growth and development and opportunity for collaborations that may not otherwise be available.
Also remember to have fun!! It is an opportunity to come together and celebrate Diversional and Recreation Therapy. Hope to see as many of you at conference!
Kind regards,
Kylie Rice
