Workshop Programme Overview
In fulfilling its Mission, Vision and Purpose, ARTA considers education and training opportunities to be of the highest importance.
The ARTA’s National Education Coordinator designs, facilitates, manages and promotes ARTA Workshops nationally. In each calendar year ARTA aims to deliver at least two Workshops each month as well as provide world class online training options that you can complete in your own time.
If you or your organisation requires specific training and education, whether it be in house or online, please contact the office.
All are welcome at ARTA’s quality workshops but members receive a substantial discount – see registration form.
2025 WORKSHOP PROGRAM OVERVIEW
ARTA have created a truly great workshop and training program for 2025. We have introduced new formats, topics, focusing on specialised areas, fundamentals and tailored to our different member cohorts.
We have continued with our very popular Hour to Empower Workshops, but they have been revamped! We have introduced a series of solid learning experiences where you will come away with practical skills that are immediately transferable to your workplace. This year we are concentrating on two very relevant skill sets - Therapeutic Relationships and Application Basics. Each month we will concentrate on a particular aspect of these skills that will ensure theory with examples and interactive components. We have a special offer on our Hour to Empower Workshops - if you book into all the workshops in a series, you will get one Hour to Empower workshop for free! Can't attend a workshop on the scheduled day? Book into the workshop and you will still automatically receive all the recordings, handouts and certificates.
We are also introducing the Fundamental Series - full day monthly workshops for all, exploring the fundamentals of Recreational Therapy in all the different aspects of RT; plus a half day monthly workshop series focusing specifically on Cert IV/Diploma members and Certified members. You will receive a workbook at each of these workshops. The full-day sessions ensure the participants come away with a good understanding of the subjects covered. They will include lectures, interactive discussions, group work and scenario-based activities, incorporating guest speakers or panels for diverse insights. Please note - in order to benefit from the interactive format of the Fundamental Series workshops, these workshops will be live only and not recorded, however, some will be repeated so that everyone has an opportunity to attend.
There will be a special training program on Creating Your Own Research Project, with a bi-monthly deep dive into all aspects of this subject.
We are having a series of FREE workshops! The Innovative Education Program will be for ARTA members only and best of all - they will all be FREE! There will be a cap of 50 attendees at each workshop, so it will be wise to book these as soon as you can! This series includes a number of workshops through the International Knowledge Exchange for our Recreational Therapy Month in February.
And lastly, we of course have our fantastic 2 day Conference on 18th and 19th September with the theme of "Recreating the Recreation Revolution". More to come on this a little later.
