President Piece – 8 December 2017

Hi members,

It’s hard to believe that December is already upon us and Christmas is just around the corner. I’m sure that Christmas planning is in full swing, so I will keep this month’s report short and sweet.

The AGM was held last month. With changes happening to the board it brings a touch as sadness, but also excitement for the new members and the coming year. It’s with a heave heart we say goodbye to Lindl Webster, Rosslyn Price, David Mas and Barbara Davis, as they step down from the board. It has been a pleasure to work with all of them and they did a wonderful job of representing the DRTA. I wish them all the best for their future adventures. I would like to welcome Kim Bromley to the VP2 position. Kim has been involved with the association for many years, most recently working on the marketing team. Kim brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and will be an asset to the board. I look forward to working with her in the coming year.

This year has seen many positives and also some challenges, though the board has worked hard to ensure the best for you – the members. And next year will be no different, bringing a new set of challenges for us to work through. The board is already planning new initiatives and projects for next year. And we are always looking for help. If you want to help in anyway, no matter how big or small please contact the office. As the old saying goes – Many hands make light work, or in this case the better the association.

As this year comes to an end, I would like to thank all the members for their support and dedication to DRTA. On behalf of the board, I wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. Please stay safe over the holiday period. I look forward to seeing you all in the new year for another big year for the DRTA.

Many thanks,

Kylie Rice
