HAPPY DIVERSIONAL AND RECREATION THERAPY WEEK!!
You might have noticed something slightly different: we are now celebrating Diversional and Recreation therapy week to reflect the name change the DRTA.
This year’s theme of ‘Innovation and Expectation’ is about demonstrating our leadership in our chosen fields, turning all those ideas into new programs and improving our practice for our clients. DRT Week is a time to engage with our colleagues, clients and the community and share the message of better leisure for all. A media release is available on the website; please share it with your contacts to spread the message. This week is a celebration for all the DT/RT’s, RAOs, DT Assistants and all activity professionals for your hard work and commitment to the profession. It is through this that our profession will continue to grow.
Up on the website are free members only resources for DRT Week. Download colour posters to put up around your workplace and add a DRTA logo to your emails to let people know you are a member of DRTA. I would love to know how all of us across Australia are celebrating DRT Week, and a great way to do that is through social media. Share your stories and photos of celebrating DRT Week on Facebook and Instagram, and even join the competition to win a prize.
I will keep this month’s update short as I am sure everyone is busy preparing and celebrating. But don’t forget that the end of the financial year is fast approaching, so that means it is soon time for membership renewals and Professional Development Points.
We have some workshop happening in the next couple of weeks including CST Training in Dubbo, NSW. This gives you a great opportunity to register for a workshop, learn and network with like-minded people, and earn some extra PD points before the end of June. See the website for more information on the workshop and to register.
