If you’re looking for a program that provides a positive, cost effective intervention by keeping the heart, brain and body active, look no further than Heart Foundation Walking.

Heart Foundation Walking is a free program that can assist in getting your clients to participate in the recommended 30 minutes of physical activity a day.

Diversional Therapists and their clients can enjoy participating in one of 1276 free community based groups, start their own facility based group or sign up to our virtual network to track their personal progress.

74 year-old Frank is living with dementia and became a Walk Organiser for the Heart Foundation in 2014.

He explains how walking improved his lifestyle.

“I love to walk; it keeps me fit and that’s what the doctor suggested. Walking makes me feel better.  It is not just walking, it’s like a support group, and everyone helps each other.

“It gives me great satisfaction as it not only helps me, but allows me to help others too.”

Heart Foundation Walking is designed to help people of ALL abilities to enjoy regular physical activity.

Over the past 21 years more than 80,000 Australians have participated in a Heart Foundation Walking group!

To find your nearest group, become a virtual walker, or set up your own group visit walking.heartfoundation.org.au or call 1300 36 27 87.
