Qualifications Certificate IV Leisure & Health or Certificate IV Aged Care Services or Bachelor of Health Science (Leisure & Health)
Requirements
- High level of communication skills, both written and verbal
- High level of computer literacy and documentation skills
- Developed teamwork skills
- Current Police Check
- Current First Aid Certificate

Position: Full Time / Permanent
Hours of duty: Monday – Friday 0900 – 1730 hours (or as negotiated)
Responsible to: Leisure Lifestyle Coordinator
Major Functions/Duties:
- Conduct the recreation program, including group and individual activities for residents, including people living with dementia
- Monitor and evaluate resident participation, progress and interest level in recreation striving for continuous improvement
- Assist in the review of lifestyle assessments as part of the overall care plan
- Respect and assist residents to practice their cultural, religious, intellectual, physical and social beliefs. Respect resident’s rights, dignity and privacy at all times.
- Liaise with and maintain a good working relationship with the community, other professionals’ and organisations in the provision of services
- Assist in developing the monthly recreation program and producing monthly facility newsletters
- Schedule, plan and organise various lifestyle events on the yearly calendar
- Implement best practices, ensuring the Aged Care Standards are always met
- Abide by the philosophy of the facility and comply with WHS/Infection Control/Fire Policies and Procedures
Other Duties:
- Assist with various documentation including assessments for Aged Care Quality Standards
- Assist with requirements and other duties and/or projects as determined from time to time by management, following communication and consultation
