Qualifications Bachelor of Health Science (Leisure & Health) / Bachelor of Health Science (Therapeutic Recreation)

- High level of communication skills, both written and verbal
- High level of computer literacy and documentation skills
- Interactive, personable teamwork skills
- Current Police Check
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Driver’s Licence (Unrestricted)

Position: Full Time / Permanent
Hours of duty: Monday – Friday 0900 – 1730 hours (or as negotiated)
Responsible to: Resident Services Manager
Major Functions/Duties:
- Implement, coordinate and oversee the recreation program, including group and individual activities
- Monitor and evaluate resident participation, progress and interest level in recreation striving for continuous improvement
- Oversee and monitor the Lifestyle team in the delivery of the recreation program
- Review lifestyle plans as part of the overall care plan evaluation process with input from the team and by liaising with the resident and/or family
- Respect and assist residents to practice their cultural, religious, intellectual, physical and social beliefs. Respect resident’s rights, dignity and privacy at all times.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the community, other professionals’ and organisations in the provision of services
- Conduct, chair and minute monthly resident/relative meetings and information sessions
- Compile, research and produce monthly facility newsletters
- Participate in professional development programs, thus keeping abreast of all changes and professional requirements in relation to Diversional Therapy and Aged Care
- Abide by the philosophy of the facility and comply with WHS/Infection Control/Fire Policies and Procedures
Other Duties:
- Conduct and complete various documentation including assessments for Aged Care Quality Standards
- Organise and coordinate fundraising activities to help fund resident activity and entertainment needs
- Assist with requirements and other duties and/or projects as determined from time to time by management, following communication and consultation
