Part time – 4 days per week Monday – Thursday
The Canberra Nursing Home in Lidcombe is seeking a qualified and experienced Diversional Therapist (DT) to work 32 hours per week (Monday – Thursday). During this 6-month probation period the successful applicant will be employed initially as a casual with a view to a permanent part time position.
The DT will be required to develop and facilitate individual and group-based programs for our residents aimed at improving, maintaining and where possible restoring the social, emotional, physical, spiritual and cognitive function and overall quality of life for those older persons living here. Complete the monthly newsletter and activities calendar and all lifestyle Assessments and Care Plans to be completed by the DT for all initial new admission paperwork relating to their life story, personal details relating to support network, dietary likes and dislikes.
The DT will oversee a team of 3 RAOs and will be required to manage the administrative side of the role as well as participating in programs where needed. Working closely with the management team as the DT you will be required to participate in the continuous improvement of the home and meet the accreditation standards relating to leisure and lifestyle.
