Launch of the second edition of the NSQHS Standards

The National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards were developed to protect the public from harm and to improve the quality of health service provision. Throughout Australia, implementation of the NSQHS Standards (first edition) has contributed to improvements in patient safety, and generated widespread engagement and support amongst health service organisations.

The NSQHS Standards were developed by the Commission, in consultation and collaboration with the states and territories, private sector partners, clinicians, consumers, technical experts and a range of stakeholders. The second edition has taken into account feedback from across the health sector and this has resulted in a set of NSQHS Standards that is simplified, reduces duplication, has an increased clinical focus and addresses important clinical gaps.

I am delighted to invite you to attend the launch of the second edition of the NSQHS Standards.
